Tournament Results!

First off, congratulations go out to Dixie, the winners of Friday night's Division A Closer Classic!  Thanks to all who participated in this lightning tournament and made it a fun chance for everyone to polish their closing skills.

Today (Saturday) we had many champions-- tournament play for all three divisions took place between 8am and 12noon, and games were hard-fought across all brackets in all divisions.

• In Division A the Gold Champion was Lone Peak1, the Silver Champion was Dixie.  The Bronze Champion was Bountiful, and the Consolation went to Knights (LP3).
• In Division B the Gold Champion was Snowflake, the Silver was Desert Hills.  The Bronze Champion was Weber2, and the Consolation Champ was Jordan.
• In Division C the Gold Champion was Murray, Silver Lone Peak, Bronze Northridge, and Consolation Hurricane.

A big thank you goes out to all the people who make this camp possible-- Steve, Darice, Deanna, Alaina, Rich and many others!  We thank you coaches, players, and parents for coming down to Dixie State to participate in this program, and hope to see you again next year!  :)

D'oh! Calculation Errors

Three of the pools in Division A were ranked incorrectly when the rankings were first posted around 7:30pm on Wednesday.  Our sincere apologies for the confusion.  Please check the rankings again.  (You may need to clear the cookies from your browser to get the new version.  If Snow Canyon1 is ranked 1st in pool B, you have the new version.)

Here's a friendly reminder to everyone (especially the programmer) that when a tie goes to points, the determining factor is point percentage over the entire pool, not just the head-to-head match.

Pooling Updates: Division A

The results of the Division A seeding pools are now posted on the Division A page!

If you are not sure where/when you play on Thursday, look for the "New Rank" designation next to your team name and find the corresponding designation in the schedule.  For example-- Pool AA will be made up of 1st in A (Lone Peak1), 1st in F (Peak-LP2), 2nd in B (Delta), and 2nd in C (Bonanza).

Division A play begins at 8am with 1 vs 3-- this refers to the new seedings-- on the list above, Lone Peak1 is the new 1 seed and Delta1 is the new 3 seed, so they will play one another at 8am on DC1.

If you are still struggling to determine where your team should be on Thursday morning, come to the Dixie Center first thing and ask!  If you notice an incorrect score, email DixieVBCamp@gmail.com.

2011 Camp Schedule

Each of the three divisions (A, B, C) has a different schedule.  Make sure you are looking at the correct schedule!

All coaches (regardless of division) need to attend the meeting at 12:30pm in the Burns Arena.  After that meeting, Division A and Division C begin play immediately.  Division B does not begin play until 6:00pm, when Division A finishes.  (Division B teams should eat dinner before their first seeding match.)

Dixie Camp 2011

The 2011 Dixie Red Storm Volleyball Team Camp will run from Wednesday, July 13th to Saturday, July 16th.  The camp is directed by Dixie head coach Darice Pratt and Lone Peak head coach Deanna Meyer, with assistant directors Alaina Parker (Snow Canyon) and Rich Hentosh (Pine View).

Camp schedules will be handed out at the coaches meeting (no players) at 12:30pm on Wednesday at the Burns Arena.  Player registration forms are due at that time.

There are three divisions this year.  The A and B divisions will progress through a seeding pool, two rounds of power pool-play, a Challenge Match, the Closer Classic, and a modified single elimination tournament.  The C division will progress through round-robin play, pool-play, and a modified single elimination tournament.
